The BERKELEY FARMERS' MARKET SALSA FESTIVAL taking place on May 21, 2022 at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Park will be a day of cultural vibrancy, musical excellence and environmental messaging meant to engage the community at the Ecology Center’s first outdoor festival in two years.
The Festival is a FREE event that will engage the community with everything from Salsa dance lessons and “crowd dancing” to freshly made Mojitos and Salsa demonstrations and samplings by local Chefs. With unique activities that include trying on “Fashion Trashion”, making People Powered smoothies or meeting Compton the Compost Pile puppet, this is a festival that will have something for everyone in the community.
Live Latin bands will perform all day long ending with the headliner performance by Grammy Award Winning percussionist Christian Pepin y su Orquesta Bembe. The Daily Californian filmed this video at the Farmers Market Salsa Festival in 2019.
