Celebrating the release of a new collection of songs.
In a special performance, singer-songwriter Mokai recreates his latest album. An eclectic evening of excellent musicianship and inspired songwriting. Rhythmic folk-blues and moving ballads.
Mokai was raised from a feral youth by the San Francisco songwriter community. Acoustic Guitar magazine called Mokai "…one of the more original players on the Bay Area acoustic music circuit”.
On his third studio album, Mokai enlists the support of well-known Bay Area musician, James Nash (Waybacks), who Guitar Player called one of "50 Transcendent Acoustic Guitarists." Nash produced the album with a roster of well-loved local players. Those appearing include keyboardist Julie Wolf (Indigo Girls, Ani DiFranco) on piano, Hammond B3 and accordion, Joe Kyle Jr. (Waybacks, Howell Devine) on bass, and Phil Brezina (Brothers Comatose) on fiddle. Nash adds harmony vocals and solo work on acoustic and electric guitar, slide and mandolin.
